James Early on Interest Rates, ESG, and Buffett

I had a great time chatting with Emmet Savage of MyWallSt on his Stock Club podcast. And although I was the guest, I’ve got to praise Emmet’s poise and emotional intelligence – he’s sharp, charming, and masterfully gentle at steering the conversation.

Based in Dublin, Emmet is a devotee of the US stock market – he’s probably more into US stocks than I am, although that’s partly for a reason: he runs an excellent research business based on serving up (mostly US) stock ideas.

Anyway, we spoke about a variety of topics: my investing philosophy, ESG as a battleground between goodwill and hypocrisy, Buffett, potentially unrealistic expectations of Gen Zs, potentially unrealistic expectations of anyone who’s come of age in the past 13 years of ultra-low interest rates, and more.
